Spring has sprung!! And you know what that means…spring makeup is finally here!! First, I just want to say that I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup. When I do, I’ll put on everything except eyeshadow and eye liner. (I never wear eyeshadow because I’m terrible at putting it on!) Even though I don’t usually wear tons of makeup, I love watching makeup videos on YouTube. I follow about 15 beauty YouTuber’s religiously and love watching them do a smokey halo eye or hearing what their favorite go-to eye liners are.
Every year I go through a cycle. The cycle starts in September…when September rolls around, I get excited for smokey eyes and dark berry lips (or more truthfully, I can’t wait to watch my favorite YouTuber’s throw on their best brown smokey eye lol). I love wearing mauve-y shades of blush in the winter and occasionally throwing on a red lip. But when April rolls around and the flowers start to bloom and the air gets warmer…I get super excited for dewy skin, pinky-nude lips and bright pink blush. Since we’re already halfway through April (can you believe it?!) I thought I would share with you guys my 5 favorite spring beauty products that I think are must-haves for this time of year!

I’ve come to the sad realization that I hate lunch. Nothing about it excites me. I never know what to have and healthy salads just don’t fill me up. On the other hand, I love breakfast because I can have pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict, etc and I love dinner because there are so many amazing options and I get to look forward to dessert afterwards! For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with finding things to eat for lunch. I want something that’s super tasty, something that will fill me up (but not too much) and something that I can have other things with…like almonds or avocado toast or (if I’m being unhealthy) chips. Can you tell I’m high maintenance when it comes to lunch??

Pinterest has been around for ages. I remember being a freshman in college and going to the library to “study”…but really all I was doing was pinning cute pictures and quotes to my various Pinterest boards. I was obsessed with it back then but then all of a sudden I stopped getting on Pinterest all together and I’m still not really sure why. When I started my blog back in August, I thought the best (and only) ways of growing it were to post on Instagram and Twitter. boy was I wrong! From my experience (and from what other people have said), Pinterest is hands down the #1 way to increase your blog’s exposure and engagement.

I recently took a poll on Instagram asking if I should do a try-on session from Target or from Nordstrom Rack. Target won by a landslide, but I mean of course, who doesn’t love Targè?! So on Sunday, I went to do the try-on session and boy was I surprised. I guess I haven’t shopped for clothes at Target in a while because there were some pretty awesome finds. There’s a new brand there called Universal Thread (at least I think it’s new) and I basically loved every piece I saw of theirs. I ended up finding tons of great items and I wanted to share them with you guys here on my blog! You can also check out my Instagram try-on session here! Also, all these pieces are under $38…how awesome is that! Gotta love Target!

“Hoppy” almost Easter everyone! Easter is one of my favorite holidays (besides Christmas and Thanksgiving). I love the all the pretty pastel colors, the candy, the family time, and the cute outfits. Every year on Easter morning (yes, still to this day even though I’m 24), my mom hides our Easter baskets and writes us a poem…a poem (usually containing the phrase “hop out of bed”) that will help us find where our baskets are hidden. Even though I’m not a kid anymore, it’s still a really fun family thing to do and I look forward to it every year!

This week, we are going to forgo our regularly scheduled Monday under 50 post and do something a little different! The other day, I was taking a flatlay of some cute spring clothes, jewelry and perfume and I thought “you know what, this would be a perfect blog post…why not talk about my favorite springtime essentials?!” Don’t get me wrong…I absolutely love winter but there’s something about spring that gets me really excited. Maybe it’s the fact that I can wear cute flowery patterned clothing, or that I can put on my favorite fresh smelling perfume. But I always get really excited when spring rolls around! Actually, the day after I post this, it will officially be spring! Woohoo!

There’s nothing I hate more than a messy wardrobe/closet/dresser/clothing storage room…you get the idea. (Jeez what a harsh way to start off this post!) I try my hardest to keep my closet neat and orderly, but during the winter months that kinda all flies out the window. When winter is over, my bulky sweaters are half on the rack and half on the floor, my closet is overflowing with booties and my winter coats are taking up half the closet which means all my other coats are on the floor. Giving my closet a spring cleaning is something I do every year because as you can see (or read), it is seriously needed.
I cleaned out my closet a few weeks ago and thought this might be a helpful post for some people! I can now walk in it and not be suffocated by the disorganized mess…yay! So if you’re closet needs a spring cleaning or just a little TLC, then you’ve come to the right place!
