First off I just want to say I’m so sorry for missing last week’s under 50 picks post! I was home for my sisters 21st birthday and then when I came back to LA Sunday night, I didn’t have time to write the post. But have no fear! The under 50 picks post is back and better than ever! (Well I’m not sure about the better than ever part…but it’s definitely back). This week’s picks are full of fun accessories, cute mules, and (as always) oversized sweaters. Enjoy!!

Instagram is hard. Instagram is really hard. It’s hard to keep up with, it’s hard to post quality pictures every day, and it’s hard to stay motivated when there’s all this algorithm stuff messing with your account and feed. The algorithm has definitely affected my account but I’m still trying to have fun and post about the things I love. I’ve been on the ‘gram for years and throughout those years I’ve learned a few things you should and shouldn’t be doing. All of these do’s and don’ts will help you better your Instagram account…from followers, to engagement, to aesthetics and more! Continue reading “5 Do’s and Don’ts for Instagram”
Welcome to my first ever “Under 50 Picks” blog post! I’m really excited to start this new series! Each under 50 post will go live every Monday and it will be a collection of my favorite fashion pieces for that week (under $50)! This idea came from Teggy French…she’s one of my favorite fashion bloggers! She does Under 100 picks every week but I wanted to keep it super affordable…that’s why my picks are under $50! I’m so excited to start and I hope you enjoy this new series!

Tis’ the new year! And you know what that means…new year new me ?? To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of that saying. I feel like trying to live up to that phrase puts so much pressure on yourself to change. A new year doesn’t mean you have to change. A new year might just mean you start to focus on certain things that help better yourself. And that’s what I want to talk about in this post! 5 healthy habits to focus on in 2018. Let’s make 2018 the best year yet! Who’s with me!
Happy 2018 everyone!! Since it’s the start of a new year, I thought I would do a best of beauty 2017. I’ve tried so many new products during the past year and I want to share my favorites with you all! I love both drugstore and high-end products so there will be a mix of both in this list. I know I’ll continue to love these products in the coming year but I can’t wait to see what kind of new and amazing products 2018 brings!

Is there anything better than a classic chocolate chip cookie?! Well I’m here to tell you that, yes. Yes there is. It’s a chewy, gooey, chocolate chip cookie. Honestly, these are better than your Grandmother’s recipe. I’m sorry if I’m being a bit dramatic…I’ll try to tone it down…let’s start again.
You haven’t lived until you’ve tried one of these cookies. There, is that better?
I usually don’t get this hyped about a CCC but these are the best I’ve ever had. They’re super simple to make and they keep for a decent amount of time too. So, if you like chewy and gooey cookies, these were made for you. Now, throw on your cutest apron and grab a spatula cause you need to get baking…ASAP.

Merry Merry Christmas everyone!! Today is the last day of blogmas…can you believe it?? I actually can’t believe I posted every day…I’m so proud of myself! Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I hope you’re all having a nice relaxing Christmassy day filled with family and friends. I spent most of today in the airport and on a plane. I was visiting my family in New Jersey and just flew back here to LA. If you haven’t traveled on Christmas Eve I’m here to tell you…that it’s absolutely insane. The plane I flew on was a 3x4x3…like the ones that fly overseas to Dubai or something. It seemed like everyone and their mother was trying to fly somewhere today.
Ok enough of my rambling…for the second to last day of Blogmas I wanted to write about my Christmas Eve traditions (they won’t be my traditions this year since I’ll be in LA but this is what they usually are).

Sugar scrubs make a really great, cute Christmas gift. They’re usually really easy to make and you can put them in festive jars for gifting. Sugar scrubs are great for this time of year because they exfoliate your skin and leave it nice and moisturized. And who doesn’t need that during these dry winter months?! Add on top of that, they’re Christmas scented…so you’re sure to have a winning gift! If you don’t want to give these scrubs away, just keep them for yourself cause who doesn’t need a little pampering this time of year!

If you’re looking for a last minute cookie recipe to make for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day…I got you covered. These candy cane cookies are so easy (and so cute) to make! It took me about 15 minutes in total to whip these up (not including bake time)….so I highly recommend this recipe if you’re in a pinch! They also taste really good. There’s peppermint extract in them so they’re a bit minty, while still tasting sweet! Now lets get to bakin’!

Christmas dinner is my second favorite meal of the year…(Thanksgiving is, of course, my first favorite). My family usually goes all out…we have like eight sides and three main dishes for Christmas dinner. (Can you tell my family and I are a bunch of food lovers?!) I literally dream about the corn soufflé and garlic mashed potatoes weeks before Christmas dinner. Since I love these dishes so much, I thought it would be fun to share them with you all! I have included four recipes that my family makes every year and then one recipe that I made for Thanksgiving this year. Let me know in the comments below what your favorite Christmas dinner side dishes are! Now, if you’re hungry you might want to go grab a snack…cause these upcoming recipes will make your mouth water…

If you want to impress your friends and family this Christmas season, all you have to do is make a DIY Christmas card. Everyone loves Christmas cards…but homemade ones are the best of the best. If anyone ever gave me a homemade card I would probably tear up… So this Christmas season, spend an extra 15 minutes creating a DIY Christmas card. And I promise you, whoever you give it too will love it 10x more. I found a bunch of really fun cards online…but I didn’t have time to make like 6 different kinds (sorry guys!!). So I thought I would just link each DIY card to the person’s blog/website who came up with the idea! Just click on the link and it will take you directly to the instruction page! Now…grab your scissors and glue and let’s get to crafting!

I’m an extremely nosy person…hate to admit that…but I am. I love knowing what people are up to, what the inside of their houses look like and exactly how they decorate their space. So I thought I would share with you guys how I decorated my home for Christmas this year! I live in a two bedroom apartment so I don’t have too much space to decorate (which is either a blessing or a curse…I haven’t decided yet). I went around and took a bunch of pictures of the main living space…hopefully these pictures put you in the Christmas spirit and maybe give you some ideas for next year! (Or this year if you’re still decorating). FYI this is going to basically be like a picture book…so let your inner kid rejoice. I will also be sure to link everything (that’s still available). Enjoy the tour!

Everyone loves Home Alone, Elf, and Christmas Vacation…but I think there are some Christmas movies that tend to slide under the radar. So without further ado, here are some underrated Christmas movies to add to your watch list…

Who likes saving money? Who likes saving time? Who likes free stuff? Who likes cute Christmas gift tags? If you answered yes to any of those, then you’ll love this post! Sometimes, going out and buying tons of Christmas present gift tags is a waste of time and money. And a lot of times those tags aren’t even that cute. So I searched online and found a bunch of really great bloggers/websites who created cute free printable Christmas tags! How cool is that!

I like to think of myself as a relatively creative and crafty person. Each year I try to make at least one DIY Christmas gift. It’s so fun when you give someone a DIY gift (but they don’t know it) and they ask where you bought it…and then you get to tell them that you made it yourself! That’s my favorite part. So for Blogmas this year I knew I definitely wanted to include a DIY Christmas gift idea blog post…and here it is! I hope you get some inspiration and motivation to tackle some of your own DIY gifts this year!

NYC is spectacular any time of year. My family lives about an hour away from the city so I’ve grown up going there fairly often. I even interned there a few summers ago. But Christmas time in NYC is a whole different story. It literally becomes a different world. The entire city lights up with Christmas lights, everyone becomes friendlier, and there are so many fun Christmassy things to do. If you’re lucky enough to be in NYC during this time, I wanted to share with you my favorite things to do and places to go!

One of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season is to pick out an ugly Christmas sweater. I usually pick a new one out every year and it’s almost always from Target. I just think they’re so fun to wear and if you’re at a casual holiday party it’s a great conversation starter (lol). So I wanted to share with you guys a few of my favorite ugly Christmas sweaters that are sure to get you a few laughs. (Don’t worry they’re comfy to wear too).

‘Tis the season to be jolly and ’tis the season to start trimming your budget! The average American spends about $990 on Christmas gifts alone. I am totally guilty of overspending during Christmas so I have done some research on ways to save some money during this time of year. Lucky for you (and me) I found a bunch of great tips. By using these tips and spending wisely, your holiday season doesn’t have to be a total budget-killer. Cheers to that!

Who doesn’t like a nice cup of hot chocolate?! It’s probably my favorite thing to drink during Christmas time…I prefer it over eggnog, apple cider, mulled wine, etc. I also love to put candy canes, whipped cream, and marshmallows in my cup of hot chocolate because why not?! Gotta live it up during the holidays. Sometimes, if I’m feeling adventurous, instead of using the pre-made packs of hot chocolate in, I will make my own. I found a few great recipes and they’re all absolutely delicious…like super decadent…so prepare yourself…

One of the reasons I love Christmas so much is because of all the amazing candle scents that I can burn during this time. There is nothing better than turning off all the lights (except for the tree lights), reading a book, and burning a holiday candle. Currently, I have 10 holiday candles placed throughout my apartment…too much? Definitely not. I actually want to get a few more. If you’re looking to purchase a holiday candle or two (or seven) you’ve come to the right place! Below, I’ve listed my top 10 faves that you just have to try! If you want to be taken directly to each candles webpage, just click on the name.

I’m always most excited to open my stocking on Christmas morning. My mom does such a good job of stuffing our stockings with little cute, fun, gifts. Stocking stuffers are usually cheaper than actual gifts so the ones that I’m going to list below are all under $15. I, personally would love to receive any of these…so again, if Seth or mom you’re reading this…wink wink. The link to each item will be under the corresponding picture. Now grab some hot chocolate and a Christmas cookie and settle in for the third post of Blogmas!

MERRY MERRY MERRY BLOGMAS!!!! Welcome to my first Blogmas post!! Who is excited?! I know I am. I’m also a little nervous…but let’s look past that. For my first post, I wanted to write about something I look forward to every Christmas season…advent calendars! I’m 23 years old and I still get excited each day to open the flaps of my advent calendar and see what’s inside. I love any kind of calendar…chocolate ones, beauty ones, perfume ones, candy ones…the list could go on and on. Since it’s the first day of blogmas I thought what better (and sensible) way to start blogmas than with the best of the best advent calendar roundup!

One of the most iconic/classic/popular Christmas clothing patterns is plaid. I’ve been wearing plaid during the holidays for as long as I can remember! So why not dedicate an entire blog post to this festive patterned clothing?! Enjoy browsing and lets get our #plaid on! Also, since today is Black Friday make sure to check out the two posts I wrote on all the sales going on…here and here.

Black Friday is all about the hottest sales and deals. I mean, it is the biggest shopping day of the year after all!! But…not all sales and discounts happen on Black Friday. A lot of stores and online websites actually have great sales leading up to Black Friday. Don’t want to brave the madness in stores and online this coming weekend? Well you’re in luck! I was able to round up some of the best current sales and deals…that are happening before the big day!

I can’t begin to tell you how much I love a good, soft, oversized flannel. I think they’re amazing wardrobe staple pieces for basically any time of year. In the fall and winter I wear them buttoned up, in the spring and summer I wear them tied around my waist as a cute fashion accessory. And since we’re moving into the winter months, you bet I’ll be living in my flannels. So I thought I would put together a little flannel guide…a list (with links) to all my favorite flannels. I own (and wear often) every single one I’m going to list down below…but when I went to take pictures, it got super cloudy outside so the lighting in my apartment went wacky. I’m sorry! Also…almost every single one of these flannels are on some kind of sale!! YAY!

I hope you find this post helpful when planning your Black Friday shopping!

Holiday beauty gift sets are some of the best things to get (and/or give) for Christmas. I personally, love receiving them because they usually come in super cute packaging with a bunch of goodies inside and how awesome is that?! And if you’re buying them for someone it’s a great value! (You’ll pay like $45 for something that would originally have cost you $75). I have combed through the Sephora and Ulta websites and picked 10 of the best holiday beauty gift sets that I think are super fun, cute, and special. Buy one of these for your mom or sister or yourself…because you deserve it!

I have decided to do Blogmas this year and I’m kind of terrified. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas and writing about all things Christmassy…it’s just the idea of blogging every single day that terrifies me. If I can’t even remember to wash my face every night before bed, how am I going to put out a good quality blog post every single day?! But I decided to put my silly fears aside and give Blogmas a shot. If you’re anything like me, you might be wondering how on earth you’re going to come up with 25 (or more) different Christmas topics to write about. Well don’t worry…I’ve got you. I’ve done some brainstorming and also did some research and came up with 30 fun Blogmas post ideas. These post ideas range from short and sweet list posts to longer more in-depth posts. I’m planning on starting Blogmas on December 1st and ending it on the 25th. And since December 1st is less than a month away let’s all buckle down, grab our favorite spiked eggnog and Christmas cookie, and get to work!

The holiday’s are here! I repeat, the holiday’s are here! Nothing makes me happier than the holiday season. I love the feel in the air, how happy everyone is, all the good food, being around family, and giving your loved ones presents. I honestly like giving presents more than I like receiving them. I love surprising my friends and family with gifts they weren’t expecting (or with gifts they repeatedly hinted at me to get). So I thought I would do a series on my blog called “Holiday Gift Guide”. I plan on writing one for women, one for men, and one for children! Today’s gift guide is for the women in your life, whether that be your mom, sister, girlfriend, friend, cousin…you get the idea. I, personally, would love to receive any of these gifts…Seth or mom…if you’re reading this…wink wink. As always, the link to the items will be next to each picture. Time to get that Christmas shopping done early (for once)!

To start this post off, I would like to say…we bloggers work hard! We put many hours into each post, making sure the pictures, writing, and layout is just right. We’re a bunch of hard workers doing something that we love! But…finding cool, easier, quicker ways to do things is sometimes really helpful. I have done some research (and also stumbled upon) some great blogging resources and websites that I think make the blogging life easier. In this post, I have compiled a list of 13 resources from web hosting, to fonts, to blog design. I hope this list helps you and makes life a little bit easier when you’re working on something you love…blogging!
