Favorite Hot Chocolate Recipes

Who doesn’t like a nice cup of hot chocolate?! It’s probably my favorite thing to drink during Christmas time…I prefer it over eggnog, apple cider, mulled wine, etc. I also love to put candy canes, whipped cream, and marshmallows in my cup of hot chocolate because why not?! Gotta live it up during the holidays. Sometimes, if I’m feeling adventurous, instead of using the pre-made packs of hot chocolate in, I will make my own. I found a few great recipes and they’re all absolutely delicious…like super decadent…so prepare yourself…

Stocking Stuffers Under $15

Stocking Stuffers Under $15

I’m always most excited to open my stocking on Christmas morning. My mom does such a good job of stuffing our stockings with little cute, fun, gifts. Stocking stuffers are usually cheaper than actual gifts so the ones that I’m going to list below are all under $15. I, personally would love to receive any of these…so again, if Seth or mom you’re reading this…wink wink. The link to each item will be under the corresponding picture. Now grab some hot chocolate and a Christmas cookie and settle in for the third post of Blogmas!

Must Have Holiday Advent Calendars

MERRY MERRY MERRY BLOGMAS!!!! Welcome to my first Blogmas post!! Who is excited?! I know I am. I’m also a little nervous…but let’s look past that. For my first post, I wanted to write about something I look forward to every Christmas season…advent calendars! I’m 23 years old and I still get excited each day to open the flaps of my advent calendar and see what’s inside. I love any kind of calendar…chocolate ones, beauty ones, perfume ones, candy ones…the list could go on and on. Since it’s the first day of blogmas I thought what better (and sensible) way to start blogmas than with the best of the best advent calendar roundup!

6 Must Have Flannels for Winter

Screenshot 2017-11-16 15.51.02

I can’t begin to tell you how much I love a good, soft, oversized flannel. I think they’re amazing wardrobe staple pieces for basically any time of year. In the fall and winter I wear them buttoned up, in the spring and summer I wear them tied around my waist as a cute fashion accessory. And since we’re moving into the winter months, you bet I’ll be living in my flannels. So I thought I would put together a little flannel guide…a list (with links) to all my favorite flannels. I own (and wear often) every single one I’m going to list down below…but when I went to take pictures, it got super cloudy outside so the lighting in my apartment went wacky. I’m sorry!

30 Fun Blogmas Post Ideas

I have decided to do Blogmas this year and I’m kind of terrified. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas and writing about all things Christmassy…it’s just the idea of blogging every single day that terrifies me. If I can’t even remember to wash my face every night before bed, how am I going to put out a good quality blog post every single day?! But I decided to put my silly fears aside and give Blogmas a shot. If you’re anything like me, you might be wondering how on earth you’re going to come up with 25 (or more) different Christmas topics to write about. Well don’t worry…I’ve got you. I’ve done some brainstorming and also did some research and came up with 30 fun Blogmas post ideas. These post ideas range from short and sweet list posts to longer more in-depth posts. I’m planning on starting Blogmas on December 1st and ending it on the 25th. And since December 1st is less than a month away let’s all buckle down, grab our favorite spiked eggnog and Christmas cookie, and get to work!

Holiday Gift Guide: for Her

Holiday Gift Guide: for Her

The holiday’s are here! I repeat, the holiday’s are here! Nothing makes me happier than the holiday season. I love the feel in the air, how happy everyone is, all the good food, being around family, and giving your loved ones presents. I honestly like giving presents more than I like receiving them. I love surprising my friends and family with gifts they weren’t expecting (or with gifts they repeatedly hinted at me to get). So I thought I would do a series on my blog called “Holiday Gift Guide”. I plan on writing one for women, one for men, and one for children! Today’s gift guide is for the women in your life, whether that be your mom, sister, girlfriend, friend, cousin…you get the idea. I, personally, would love to receive any of these gifts…Seth or mom…if you’re reading this…wink wink. As always, the link to the items will be next to each picture. Time to get that Christmas shopping done early (for once)!

8 Holiday Wardrobe Staple Pieces

8 Holiday Wardrobe Staple Pieces

Brace yourselves…the holiday season is upon us. For me, this is my absolute favorite time of year. November and December make me so happy! I tend to go a bit overboard with the decorating and the shopping and the cooking. Since I go overboard with all that, I try not to go as crazy overboard in regards to my wardrobe shopping. I do like to buy a few new staple pieces before every holiday season…things that I know I will get a lot of use out of and things that can be worn different ways or paired with different things. In this post, I wanted to share with you this year’s holiday season wardrobe staples. I am planning on doing a more in depth holiday style guide later on but I thought this would be a quick, fun post to do! Now, get your mind in that holiday spirit (and in the shopping spirit) and take a look at these holiday wardrobe staples!

Classic Pumpkin Bread

pumpkin bread 14

When I think of Fall and Winter I think of pumpkin bread. For as long as I can remember I’ve always (or my mom has always) made pumpkin bread during this time of year. Some years I make pumpkin bread almost every other week. I wouldn’t go as far as to say I’m obsessed with pumpkin bread…well no, actually I would go as far as to say that. In fact, for my college essay I compared myself to pumpkin bread… Now, I’ve tried a few different recipes and this one that’s listed below is by far my favorite. This recipe makes bread that is (excuse this word) moist, and full of sweetness and fall spices. What could be better?! You only need one bowl for this entire recipe and it takes all of 8 minutes to whip together. I did halve the recipe so it usually makes 2 loaves. Full condensed recipe will be at the end of this post!

5 Makeup Brush Hacks Every Beauty Lover Should Know

Did you know…that makeup brushes…don’t only have to be used…just for putting on makeup…? Well I used to not know that! I thought they only had one purpose and that purpose was to make your makeup look #flawless. But…ever since I started really getting into makeup, maybe about 4 years ago, I have come across other ways to use makeup brushes! The Best FREE Stock Photo Websites

The Best FREE Stock Photo Websites

Let me start out by saying, stock photos have changed my life and my blog (not to be super dramatic, but it’s true). When I first started my blog back in August, I was taking all my own pictures and using them for my blog posts, Twitter posts, and Pinterest posts. Now, I’m no professional photographer. I also don’t have a $700 camera to take super high quality pictures with. I’m sure most of you reading this don’t have that kind of camera either (but if you do I’m extremely jealous and you’re so lucky). So about a month ago I started looking into stock photo websites (free, no strings attached kinda websites) and I was really happy with what I found. I am going to list a few down below that I’ve found over this past month and let me tell you…they have really crisp, amazing, professional photos. Some are more standard with your basic photos and some are super girly with pretty and fun photos. I genuinely think stock photos have helped elevate my blogging game (and my Pinterest and Twitter game) and so I wanted to share some of my faves with you guys!

5 Fall Outfits Under $100

5 Fall Outfits Under $100

Every year once the Fall season rolls around I like to update my wardrobe with some new seasonal pieces. Usually I’ll buy a sweater or two, some jeans, definitely new booties, maybe a dress if I’m feelin fancy, and some kind of coat. But then when I get them all together in my closet, they don’t really match each other…nothing looks like a complete outfit. Ugh. So I thought I would do some hunting and find 5 super cute fall outfits for under $100. These are all affordable pieces so they’re great for someone on a budget or someone just wanting to find a great deal!

Candy Corn Cupcakes

Screen Shot 2017-10-14 at 5.22.11 PM

How stinkin’ cute are these?! Candy corn is pretty much the symbol of fall/halloween so I figured this would be a perfect dessert to make! Don’t worry…they don’t actually taste like candy corn, they just look like candy corn (I know a lot of people don’t like the actual taste of the candy). You can actually do this for almost any kind of dessert (if you don’t like cupcakes)…you can make a cookie, cheesecake, maybe even brownie (?) form of these. I made a classic vanilla cake and vanilla icing cupcake (my favorite) and just dyed the batter orange and yellow! If you’re having a party, these would be the perfect thing to make. Or if you’re not throwing one, just make them for yourself (which is exactly what I did) and get started on that winter body!

Sephora Hits and Misses: Highlighter Edition

Welcome to my new series…Sephora hits and misses! Each time I post about Sephora hits and misses I will focus on a specific category, so for example this first post is the highlighter edition and maybe next post will be the foundation edition. Get it?! I hope you find these posts helpful because I know when I walk into Sephora, I get so overwhelmed with all the different choices they have. Everything in the store looks like it would be amazing…unfortunately looks are sometimes deceiving (looking at you Sephora PRO highlighter palette). Hopefully this post helps narrow things down for you! I for one, don’t want to spend over $30 on a highlighter that’s going to make me either 1) look like a greasy hot dog or 2) look like I have no highlighter on because there’s no color payoff. I did a bunch of research and read tons of reviews to make this post as accurate and helpful as possible! Happy highlighter hunting!

Fall Simmer Pot Recipe

fall simmer pot blog post 10:7 pic 4

What smells better than a Bath and Body Work’s Apple Cinnamon candle you might ask? A fall simmer pot!! Trust me, it really does smell better than any fall candle you will ever smell. And you know me, I’m all about a good candle…but nothing beats the smell of fresh ingredients simmering on the stove. My mom used to make something similar to this when I was growing up so whenever I make this myself, it brings back good mems.

How I Gained 2,000 Followers in 2 Months on Instagram

How I Gained 2,000 Followers in 2 Months on Instagram

I started my blog back on August 11, 2017…the same day I created my blog’s Instagram account. I remember thinking, “wow wouldn’t it be great if I could reach 100 followers on the gram by the beginning of September!” … I reached 100 followers in like 3 days. I was blown away! I would literally gain (and still do gain) roughly 50 followers a day without having to try super hard or SPEND ANY MONEY. This isn’t going to be some gimmicky post where I try to sell you a random product or subscription to some “all knowing” company who claims they can boost your followers in no time at all. No, I did this all on my own (and still do the steps I’m going to list below, now 2 months later!)

In this post I want to talk to you guys about the tips and tricks I learned and used to help grow my Instagram account from 0 followers to over 2,000 followers in less than 2 months. I know everyone is talking about the Instagram algorithms and how they are loosing followers and engagement, but honestly, my account has been perfectly fine! (fingers crossed) So if you want to see how to become #instafamous (kidding I have 2k followers not 200k) then keep on reading!

10 Reasons to be Happy Today

Screen Shot 2017-10-04 at 2.59.27 PM

A lot of horrible things have been going on in our world recently, from natural disasters to man made disasters. I’m not going to go into detail about everything that has happened because I’m sure you are all aware. We’re living through a tough time on our little planet called Earth. I feel useless not being able to help every single person who is hurting right now, whether they’re hurting from these natural disasters, man made disasters, or just going through something tough in their lives. So I wanted to write this post because if you are someone who happens to read this and are hurting right now for one reason or another, I hope this helps (even if it only helps the teeny tiniest bit). Who knows, maybe only 30 people see this post, but if it could help even just 1 of them, then that’s all I could ask for.

How to Master the Flat Lay Photo

How to Master the Flat Lay Photo

We’ve all been there…you have the cutest stuff to #gram and you think you’ve laid it out perfectly. So you snap the pic and oh…the photo is too dark, the stuff that you arranged isn’t quite perfect, or you upload it to Instagram and half the picture is cut off. I’ve had all those problems and many more throughout my days of taking flat lay pics. But recently, I think I’ve gotten the hang of it. Actually, those flat lay pictures sometimes get more likes than a picture of me in a cute outfit (I’m fine, it’s fine)…and that just goes to show you how much people enjoy a professional looking, perfected flay lay picture. So anyway, I’m here today to give you all my tips on how to nail the flat lay #likeaboss.

Fall and Winter Booties Guide

Fall and Winter Booties Guide

Everyone loves a good bootie….not that kind of bootie…the shoe kind of bootie! Whenever I put on actual clothes (like not workout clothes or PJs) I always throw on a pair of booties. They’re super cute and are basically perfect for every occasion. So I thought I would create a fall and winter bootie guide on all my favorite booties (there are a lot so prepare yourself). At the end of this post I’ll include pictures of all the booties and the links where you can buy them. But first I want to give you a fashion show of me wearing my faves…(cue runway music) Continue reading “Fall and Winter Booties Guide”

50 Best Makeup Products Under $15

50 Best Makeup Products Under $15

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I don’t know bout you, but I love splurging on luxury makeup products every now and then. YSL foundation, Bobbi Brown lipsticks, Marc Jacobs eye shadows…but that’s the thing…I’m splurging on those products. I love you Sephora…so much…but sometimes I have to save a little money. Most people can’t afford to purchase high end makeup products all the time (including yours truly). Thankfully, there are many great products out there that won’t break the bank. I have discovered my favorites along the way and I also have watched some of the best YouTubers to see what their tried and true favorite “drugstore” makeup products are. So with this knowledge, I have compiled a list of 50 of the best makeup products to buy on a budget (and they’re all under $15 dollars!!!). I broke it down into categories and also provided links to each product. I hope you find this list useful! Continue reading “50 Best Makeup Products Under $15”

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

PSL 2 for blog post 9:23

It’s that time of year again…when PSL’s rule the world. Now I’m not going to lie, I love myself a good Starbucks run that ends in a PSL. But sometimes I don’t feel like paying $4-$5 just for a drink that’s going to last me maybe 6 minutes. So I went on the hunt for some good homemade pumpkin spice latte recipes.

Must Have Coats for Fall and Winter

Must Have Coats for Fall and Winter

Before we get into this post I would just like to take a moment and address the fact that as I’m writing this, it is 80 degrees and sunny outside. But I’m not going to have a pity party (even though I really want to)..I’m going to get even more excited for the Fall and Winter seasons by writing this post! I wanted to post this now, because as I was browsing some of my favorite online stores, I came across a lot of coats that were on sale. It’s always better to buy early (or before the actual season) because of these sales.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

Do you like peanut butter? Do you like butter? Do you like cupcakes? Do you like the recipe of a lifetime? If you said yes to any of those then I’m happy to introduce you to….peanut butter chocolate chip cupcakes! These guys are the most decadent, peanut buttery, tasty cupcakes you’ll ever eat. I do have to warn you though…proceed with caution because these are not for the faint of heart. Each one literally weighs probably two pounds and they’re super filling. Seth had one last night and he couldn’t even finish it…a grown man couldn’t finish one…just let that sink in…

But don’t let that scare you away!! These are easy to make and will impress everyone who eats them. I do want to apologize for the lighting in the upcoming pictures…the lighting in my kitchen is weird and so some pictures taken from different angles might look darker than others.  As usual I’ll put the condensed recipe at the end of this post! Now batter up! (are you tired of my puns yet) We’re bout to jump into this recipe!

Fall Haul: Episode 1

Fall Haul Blog Post pic 21 9:12

First off, I just want to start out by saying how badly I keep wanting to type “Faul Haul” instead of “Fall Hall”…can I make that a thing?

Welcome to the first of many haul posts that I know I will be doing during the coming Fall and Winter seasons! These are my two favorite seasons; I love the food, decoration, and happiness these seasons bring.  I’m almost positive I will be on a first name basis with the local Michaels and Target employees by the middle of October. Speaking of Michaels and Target, I shopped at both recently (also went to Bath and Body Works) and bought a few things that I wanted to share with you guys! At the time I went, Michaels was having a huge sale on their seasonal stuff so I lucked out and everything I purchased was under $15 dollars! Just a warning: this post will be mainly pictures, so not a lot of reading will be involved (the inner child in you is going wild right now isn’t it). So I’ll stop rambling and let’s get into this faul haul! (Did I make it work that time?)
