Happy Monday friends!! I don’t know about you, but I’m still recovering from the Royal Wedding on Saturday. Recovering sleep/energy wise and recovering emotionally (lol). Since I live in California, I woke up at 3am to start watching it. It was sooo worth it though…such a beautiful service! How cute are Meghan and Harry together?! The way he looked at her…omg…I melted.
Ok, so since Memorial Day is this weekend, lots of stores are having Memorial Day weekend sales…so I found a bunch of great deals on some super cute clothes in this under 50 post! Yay! Also, I know that Nordstrom is having their semi-annual sale starting this Wednesday so I’m going to do a post dedicated to my favorite Nordstrom sale picks! Be looking out for that on Wednesday!

Hi you guys!! I’m finally back! Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted on here! It’s been a crazy couple of weeks…from our friends wedding in South Carolina, to my mom coming to visit for a week, to just regular life…I haven’t had much time to just sit down and write. But I’m so glad I’m taking some time off on this Saturday to bring you guys another under 50 post! I’m actually writing this as I watch the Kentucky Derby. Anyone else love the Derby!? I get so pumped for it and so nervous….like I actually have a horse racing in it…lol.

I’ve come to the sad realization that I hate lunch. Nothing about it excites me. I never know what to have and healthy salads just don’t fill me up. On the other hand, I love breakfast because I can have pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict, etc and I love dinner because there are so many amazing options and I get to look forward to dessert afterwards! For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with finding things to eat for lunch. I want something that’s super tasty, something that will fill me up (but not too much) and something that I can have other things with…like almonds or avocado toast or (if I’m being unhealthy) chips. Can you tell I’m high maintenance when it comes to lunch??

This week, we are going to forgo our regularly scheduled Monday under 50 post and do something a little different! The other day, I was taking a flatlay of some cute spring clothes, jewelry and perfume and I thought “you know what, this would be a perfect blog post…why not talk about my favorite springtime essentials?!” Don’t get me wrong…I absolutely love winter but there’s something about spring that gets me really excited. Maybe it’s the fact that I can wear cute flowery patterned clothing, or that I can put on my favorite fresh smelling perfume. But I always get really excited when spring rolls around! Actually, the day after I post this, it will officially be spring! Woohoo!

There’s nothing I hate more than a messy wardrobe/closet/dresser/clothing storage room…you get the idea. (Jeez what a harsh way to start off this post!) I try my hardest to keep my closet neat and orderly, but during the winter months that kinda all flies out the window. When winter is over, my bulky sweaters are half on the rack and half on the floor, my closet is overflowing with booties and my winter coats are taking up half the closet which means all my other coats are on the floor. Giving my closet a spring cleaning is something I do every year because as you can see (or read), it is seriously needed.
I cleaned out my closet a few weeks ago and thought this might be a helpful post for some people! I can now walk in it and not be suffocated by the disorganized mess…yay! So if you’re closet needs a spring cleaning or just a little TLC, then you’ve come to the right place!
Continue reading “How to Give Your Closet a Spring Cleaning”
I’ve come to the conclusion that even though it’s not technically Spring yet and even though it doesn’t really feel warm out (yet), I still want to wear Spring clothes. I just want to throw on some cute jean shorts and a long sleeve blouse, or rock a floral print dress. Who’s with me?! So since I’m in a Spring timey mood, all of these under 50 picks will reflect that. Grab a tropical cocktail (not sure where you might grab one…unless your on vacay…but maybe you can make one) and let’s browse some affordable Spring outfit ideas!

Happy International Women’s Day! “Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.” I’m so proud to be a women in today’s world! I am also so proud to have such strong women in my life…my Mom, my Sister, my Aunts, and my Grandma!
As women, we have made so many positive changes to the world and it’s only going to get better from here! We have strong voices, strong minds and strong hearts. We have gotten this far by building ourselves up and by building each other up. Since it’s International Women’s Day, I thought I would write down all my favorite self empowerment quotes for women. Hopefully these make you feel like a #girlboss…and make you want to conquer each and every day!

This is a new kind of post for me…the recipes that I usually post on here are full of butter, sugar and just yummy, bad for you, goodness. But this time I thought I would switch it up and post a recipe that’s super healthy for you. And by super healthy, I mean super healthy…these muffins have got chia seeds, flaxseed meal, agave, raw coconut shavings, banana and tons more “good for ingredients.”

I hope everyone had a great weekend! My boyfriend was out of town at a bachelor party so I spent my weekend cleaning, watching the olympics and selling some old clothes/accessories on eBay. I’ve decided that for this weeks under 50 post, we’re going to forget about chunky, dark, Winter clothes and instead focus on bright, happy Spring clothes! All of the picks in this post will 100% spice up your Spring wardrobe game and I’m actually really excited. I love all the pastel colors and lighter weight clothing that you can wear during the Spring! So without further ado, let’s spring into the post (that was a rough one, I know). Also, do you think I used the word Spring enough in this opening paragraph? (hint-I used it 5 times…)

I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve done a beauty post on here! But that’s about to change because I really wanted to share with you guys my all time fave, holy grail skincare products! I was cleaning out my bathroom drawers the other day and was really focusing on getting rid of any skincare products that I didn’t like or just didn’t use anymore. So now, all I’m left with are the products I can’t live without. Some are affordable and some are more high-end…I tend to splurge on moisturizers and save on face wash.
All of these products are geared toward people with dry skin. My skin is constantly dry and I need to moisturize it at least 3 times a day. I also have a very tiny bit of texture on my cheeks so I like to exfoliate at least 3 times a week to keep that texture at bay. Anyway, let’s get talkin’ about skincare! Please let me know in the comments below what your holy grail skincare products are…I would love to test out some new ones!

This weeks under 50 picks are going to be a lil’ different…I’ve been super into home decor recently so all of these picks will be home decor related!! Don’t worry, next week we will get back to our regularly scheduled fashion under 50 picks. But I do hope you enjoy these home decor picks! Also…over half of these picks are on sale!! So grab your wallet and get ready for some amazing savings!

There’s nothing better than scoring an awesome deal. Wait…or is there nothing better than saving up and splurging on something you really want? I agree with both of those which is why I still haven’t decided which store I love more…Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack. Nordstrom Rack has some amazing deals on some awesome pieces while Nordstrom…well is just Nordstrom. In this post, I wanted to compare some very similar pieces from both of these stores and recommend whether you should splurge on the Nordstrom item or save on the Nordstrom Rack item. I also thought I would separate this into two sections…clothing and shoes. If you guys like this post then I’m thinking about doing another one but with two other sections…accessories and homeware! So let me know what you think of this kind of post in the comments down below!

This post took me about an hour longer than usual because Olympic curling was on TV and distracting me. I’m an avid Olympics watcher so I’m very excited for these next two weeks…go team USA!

I started blogging (and created my blog’s Instagram) back in August. I had heard of rewardStyle and liketoknow.it a little bit before I entered into the world of blogging but once I was actually a part of this world, it was literally all I saw! I followed so many amazing bloggers and Instagrammers who were part of the rewardStyle community and it instantly made me want to join. So in early October I (impulsively) decided to go ahead and apply. I got the rejection email almost immediately. In the rejection email, they tell you not to apply for another 4 months (at least). It was a huge let down because I had been so excited.
After reading that email, I was determined to make my blog and Instagram the best that it could be. I had no idea if they would accept me when I went to apply again this past week…but they did! I got the acceptance email the next morning and I was so thrilled! (it sounds like I’m talking about getting accepted into college lol) After I posted my first liketoknow.it Instagram picture, I had a few people reach out to me asking what I did to get accepted. I know there are so many people out there who get rejected once, twice, or even three times. Please don’t get discouraged! In this post, I’m going to talk about the 3 main things I did after being rejected…and how they helped me get accepted!

First off I just want to say I’m so sorry for missing last week’s under 50 picks post! I was home for my sisters 21st birthday and then when I came back to LA Sunday night, I didn’t have time to write the post. But have no fear! The under 50 picks post is back and better than ever! (Well I’m not sure about the better than ever part…but it’s definitely back). This week’s picks are full of fun accessories, cute mules, and (as always) oversized sweaters. Enjoy!!

Can you believe it’s already almost Valentines Day?! I feel like January went by really slow but then at the same time, it went by really fast. (Does that even make sense?) If Valentines Day has snuck up on you (like it’s snuck up on me) and you’re not quite sure what you’re going to wear…have no fear! That’s what this post is for! It doesn’t matter if you’re going out on a fancy date with your boyfriend, to a laid back dinner with your husband, or having a fun girls night out with your besties…these outfit ideas have got you covered!

Guys, Valentines Day is right around the corner..and you know what that means. Do nothing until the day after Valentines Day when all the chocolates go on sale? No not that…or yes do that but it’s also time to start thinking about some gift ideas for that special guy in your life. This post will include gift ideas for anyone who has a boyfriend, fiancé, or hubby. Some of these gift ideas I’ve actually used before (and they were each a huge success) and some of them will be new ideas I’ve just come across! I’ll list them all down below and include links to each gift’s original page…so you can see where to buy it/how to make it/etc. If you don’t want to go the gift route, just taking your significant other out to a nice dinner is an amazing, special gift. My boyfriend actually just told me today about the reservation he made for our Valentines Day dinner! I’m super excited. Anyway, I’m sure you’re all dyyyyying to get some gift ideas so here they are!

To be honest, I’ll take a good dewy, inexpensive, long-lasting drugstore foundation over high end foundation any day of the week. There are so many great drugstore foundations out there, so I wanted to dedicate a blog post to them. I feel like my skin changes color a lot (aka getting tan and losing that tan) so I have to buy like 4 different shades of foundation every year. Since I can’t really justify buying 4 different bottles of high end foundation a year…I buy 4 different bottles of $10 drugstore foundation. As you can tell from the title, these foundations I’m going to be talking about are all for dry skin. My skin (bless it’s heart) is always extremely dry and sometimes dull looking. So the foundations I use are dewy and geared toward dry skin. Dew (I’m sorry, I just had to use this pun) you want to know what the best drugstore foundations are?! Then just keep reading!

Instagram is hard. Instagram is really hard. It’s hard to keep up with, it’s hard to post quality pictures every day, and it’s hard to stay motivated when there’s all this algorithm stuff messing with your account and feed. The algorithm has definitely affected my account but I’m still trying to have fun and post about the things I love. I’ve been on the ‘gram for years and throughout those years I’ve learned a few things you should and shouldn’t be doing. All of these do’s and don’ts will help you better your Instagram account…from followers, to engagement, to aesthetics and more! Continue reading “5 Do’s and Don’ts for Instagram”
Welcome to my first ever “Under 50 Picks” blog post! I’m really excited to start this new series! Each under 50 post will go live every Monday and it will be a collection of my favorite fashion pieces for that week (under $50)! This idea came from Teggy French…she’s one of my favorite fashion bloggers! She does Under 100 picks every week but I wanted to keep it super affordable…that’s why my picks are under $50! I’m so excited to start and I hope you enjoy this new series!

Tis’ the new year! And you know what that means…new year new me ?? To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of that saying. I feel like trying to live up to that phrase puts so much pressure on yourself to change. A new year doesn’t mean you have to change. A new year might just mean you start to focus on certain things that help better yourself. And that’s what I want to talk about in this post! 5 healthy habits to focus on in 2018. Let’s make 2018 the best year yet! Who’s with me!
Happy 2018 everyone!! Since it’s the start of a new year, I thought I would do a best of beauty 2017. I’ve tried so many new products during the past year and I want to share my favorites with you all! I love both drugstore and high-end products so there will be a mix of both in this list. I know I’ll continue to love these products in the coming year but I can’t wait to see what kind of new and amazing products 2018 brings!

Is there anything better than a classic chocolate chip cookie?! Well I’m here to tell you that, yes. Yes there is. It’s a chewy, gooey, chocolate chip cookie. Honestly, these are better than your Grandmother’s recipe. I’m sorry if I’m being a bit dramatic…I’ll try to tone it down…let’s start again.
You haven’t lived until you’ve tried one of these cookies. There, is that better?
I usually don’t get this hyped about a CCC but these are the best I’ve ever had. They’re super simple to make and they keep for a decent amount of time too. So, if you like chewy and gooey cookies, these were made for you. Now, throw on your cutest apron and grab a spatula cause you need to get baking…ASAP.

But do you know what helps cure these post-Christmas blues?! HUGE SALES!!! It seems like almost every store is having a sale right now. And they’re all amazing. I did a little online shopping yesterday for myself and I bought 6 things…for a grand total of $80. So grab your wallet and/or Christmas money and let’s get to shopping!

Merry Merry Christmas everyone!! Today is the last day of blogmas…can you believe it?? I actually can’t believe I posted every day…I’m so proud of myself! Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I hope you’re all having a nice relaxing Christmassy day filled with family and friends. I spent most of today in the airport and on a plane. I was visiting my family in New Jersey and just flew back here to LA. If you haven’t traveled on Christmas Eve I’m here to tell you…that it’s absolutely insane. The plane I flew on was a 3x4x3…like the ones that fly overseas to Dubai or something. It seemed like everyone and their mother was trying to fly somewhere today.
Ok enough of my rambling…for the second to last day of Blogmas I wanted to write about my Christmas Eve traditions (they won’t be my traditions this year since I’ll be in LA but this is what they usually are).

Sugar scrubs make a really great, cute Christmas gift. They’re usually really easy to make and you can put them in festive jars for gifting. Sugar scrubs are great for this time of year because they exfoliate your skin and leave it nice and moisturized. And who doesn’t need that during these dry winter months?! Add on top of that, they’re Christmas scented…so you’re sure to have a winning gift! If you don’t want to give these scrubs away, just keep them for yourself cause who doesn’t need a little pampering this time of year!

If you’re looking for a last minute cookie recipe to make for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day…I got you covered. These candy cane cookies are so easy (and so cute) to make! It took me about 15 minutes in total to whip these up (not including bake time)….so I highly recommend this recipe if you’re in a pinch! They also taste really good. There’s peppermint extract in them so they’re a bit minty, while still tasting sweet! Now lets get to bakin’!

Christmas dinner is my second favorite meal of the year…(Thanksgiving is, of course, my first favorite). My family usually goes all out…we have like eight sides and three main dishes for Christmas dinner. (Can you tell my family and I are a bunch of food lovers?!) I literally dream about the corn soufflé and garlic mashed potatoes weeks before Christmas dinner. Since I love these dishes so much, I thought it would be fun to share them with you all! I have included four recipes that my family makes every year and then one recipe that I made for Thanksgiving this year. Let me know in the comments below what your favorite Christmas dinner side dishes are! Now, if you’re hungry you might want to go grab a snack…cause these upcoming recipes will make your mouth water…

If you want to impress your friends and family this Christmas season, all you have to do is make a DIY Christmas card. Everyone loves Christmas cards…but homemade ones are the best of the best. If anyone ever gave me a homemade card I would probably tear up… So this Christmas season, spend an extra 15 minutes creating a DIY Christmas card. And I promise you, whoever you give it too will love it 10x more. I found a bunch of really fun cards online…but I didn’t have time to make like 6 different kinds (sorry guys!!). So I thought I would just link each DIY card to the person’s blog/website who came up with the idea! Just click on the link and it will take you directly to the instruction page! Now…grab your scissors and glue and let’s get to crafting!

I’m an extremely nosy person…hate to admit that…but I am. I love knowing what people are up to, what the inside of their houses look like and exactly how they decorate their space. So I thought I would share with you guys how I decorated my home for Christmas this year! I live in a two bedroom apartment so I don’t have too much space to decorate (which is either a blessing or a curse…I haven’t decided yet). I went around and took a bunch of pictures of the main living space…hopefully these pictures put you in the Christmas spirit and maybe give you some ideas for next year! (Or this year if you’re still decorating). FYI this is going to basically be like a picture book…so let your inner kid rejoice. I will also be sure to link everything (that’s still available). Enjoy the tour!

I like to think of myself as a relatively creative and crafty person. Each year I try to make at least one DIY Christmas gift. It’s so fun when you give someone a DIY gift (but they don’t know it) and they ask where you bought it…and then you get to tell them that you made it yourself! That’s my favorite part. So for Blogmas this year I knew I definitely wanted to include a DIY Christmas gift idea blog post…and here it is! I hope you get some inspiration and motivation to tackle some of your own DIY gifts this year!

NYC is spectacular any time of year. My family lives about an hour away from the city so I’ve grown up going there fairly often. I even interned there a few summers ago. But Christmas time in NYC is a whole different story. It literally becomes a different world. The entire city lights up with Christmas lights, everyone becomes friendlier, and there are so many fun Christmassy things to do. If you’re lucky enough to be in NYC during this time, I wanted to share with you my favorite things to do and places to go!

One of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season is to pick out an ugly Christmas sweater. I usually pick a new one out every year and it’s almost always from Target. I just think they’re so fun to wear and if you’re at a casual holiday party it’s a great conversation starter (lol). So I wanted to share with you guys a few of my favorite ugly Christmas sweaters that are sure to get you a few laughs. (Don’t worry they’re comfy to wear too).

By using these tips and spending wisely, your holiday season doesn’t have to be a total budget-killer. Cheers to that!
